Two Babies! TWO! [Tag: Slasher/Shihei]

Nothing like the Isil Tunnelhold the wherhandlers used to live in, these tunnels are just big enough for dark living spaces for the handlers and their whers, a small hatching sands, and a small lounge for the whers and any unbonded whers during the day. Wherlings move straight into the dens after bonding.

Fuzzytimed to a few weeks after hatching

Sit down soon? Dresk was keeping up valiently with the longer legs of Drekask, but he was so little still and Drekask was so big, it was hard for him to keep going long, even with Drekar's weight on top of Drekask's to slow the blue down. Me tired. Hungry. Want nap, snacks.

We're almost there, little one. Drekar promised. Sliding off of the blue's back, Drekar kneeled by his newly impressed agate wher, frowning as he glanced the little one over. And you just ate. A few mintes ago you said you couldn't have another bite. Hungry again already?

Dresk stared at Drekar for a moment before lowering his head, thinking about it. Finally he lifted his head again, deciding. No hungry. Want scratches.

Drekar couldn't help but shake his head in amusement, lips twitching upwards at Dresk's inability to decide what he wanted. It reminded him a bit of baby Drekask, who would demand oiling in one moment and then change his mind and want a nap the next, avoiding Drekar who had just sprinted over with a new bucket of oil and rag. Then ten minutes later he'd be up and hungry again. As a new wherling, Drekar had been rather frustrated by it, but he found the behavior endearing now, especially now that he could better tell what Dresk actually wanted and what he was just thinking about.

Drekask gave a low rumble and continued padding towards the meeting rooms, not pausing to wait for Dresk or Drekar. The little Agate squealed at the thought of being left behind and nudged past Drekar to hurry after the blue, little legs plopping against the floor as he hurried to keep up. Drekar stood as well and followed after them, ragarding the two with a small frown. Drekask didn't hate their new Agate, but he didn't love him either, and Drekar was worried about their future. Could neutrality turn into dislike or even hatred later? For the Agate's part, Dresk was as devoted to Drekask as he was to Drekar, so there was no telling what might end up happening between the two. Well, at least they didn't actively dislike one another.

By the time they reached the gathering room where wher handlers and visitors often gathered for visis, Dresk was pooped. The little wher was flopped flat against the ground, sides heaving. The reaction was perhaps a bit dramatic - they hadn't even left the tunnels, the whole trip had been maybe a two minute walk - but the little guy had moved fast to keep up with the bigger Drekask. Drekask in question was curled comfortably against the side of the room, licking a single claw.

Drekar glanced from one to the other again, humming in consideration, before kneeling down again to explain to the littler Agate what was going on. We're going to meet someone very special today. he explained to Dresk, immediatly capturing the Agate's attention. Her name is Shihei and-

Shihei like Drekask?

No we're not bonded, Shihei's a person and not a wher. She likes whers though, so I think you two'll get along. She was going to meet us here tonight.

Shihei scratch Dresk's eyeridges?

Well, you'll have to ask her about that.

Shihei had been more than a little surprised when she received the message from Drekar, that the man had bonded to a second wher, completely unexpected. If she had not been neck deep in the Infirmary, she would have gone to visit right away. But since their adventure into the forest, and the few meetings since, she had been frustrated by her lack of visitations to the man. The first man in a while that had any sort of romantic interest in her, or vice versa.

But once she finally managed to get some patient’s out of the infirmary, instead of in, she immediately contacted Drekar to arrange a meeting. She of course had a few reasons to want to visit. On one hand, she was still fascinated by the wher’s, even if she loved the dragons still. Seeing, meeting, and interacting with a baby one would be highly educational, she was sure. Second, she was sure Drekask, considering how actively jealous the blue could be towards Drekar, would appreciate a little attention. And maybe even a reminder that just because he had to share, didn’t mean he was any less loved(by any party involved). And third, and one that weighed heavily on her reasoning, she wanted to see Drekar. She knew not too much could come of their relationship(or whatever it was), especially until Dresk was older. But the woman was still very interested, and the few kisses they had shared only helped to enhance that interest.

So when the appointed time came, Shihei grabbed a basket she had waiting, and headed for the Tunnels. Arriving there, she realized she had underestimated the time for walking, and Drekar and his pair had beaten her. Oh well, better late than never.

Popping her head into the room, she glanced around, then smiled warmly, “Am I late?” She walked in, and set her basket down on the table, smiling between the two wher’s, and the man.

Drekar looked up at the words and gave Shihei a small smile upon seeing her. It really had been far too long that they had seen eachother - first with her work in the infirmary and now with Drekar with another wherling to take care of. He stood and would have gone over to embrace her - he even took a few steps forward - but was immediatly beaten by two whers clamoring for attention.

Dresk was there first, the smaller Agate snuffling Shihei's knees curiously before deciding she didn't smell too weird to be friends with. He turned his side towards her and then leaned on her legs, staring up at her with the closest a giant lizard could manage to puppy dog eyes. Pet Dresk? he asked plantitivly. It's really important. Dresk want scritches.

At the same time, Drekask stuck his muzzle in Shihei's face, once again presenting her with a giant gust of wherbreath as he snuffled happily. Drekask miss Dragonhealer. Not visit in long. he gave a sad little croon before immediatly brightening. Stay long now?

"Now now you two, the weyr is going to blame me if you accidentally squish her." Drekar chuckled, projecting the words both in his mind and outloud. He walked over to nudge Dresk away lightly before booping Drekask on the nose. While the more easygoing blue huffed and shifted his head somewhere so it wasn't right in Shihei's face, the agate was a little more stubborn and continued to clamor around Shihei for attention.

"The one thing about two whers, they twice betray my eagerness to see you." Drekar smiled at Shihei before reaching in to wrap his arms around her waist (how he managed to do that with a little Agate snaking about every two seconds, we'll never know). "How are you?" he nodded at the grumbling Drekask and the clamoring Dresk. "Come to see all the craziness?"

The woman’s gaze rested on the pale man as he matched her grin. And her own smile grew a bit as he took a step towards her. Unfortunately, he was too slow, and suddenly she felt something was at her knees. She looked down, and about died. While it had been a few sevenday since Bonding, the little Agate was still floppy and adorable, and oh my shards, baby!

And then he was rubbing on her knees, and she started to lean down to do as he asked(she had long gotten used to being spoken to by the dragons, and the whers. The hazard of being a healer) to scritch at him, “Why hello th-Oh!” And before she could lean down more than a couple inches, there was a large, familiar blue head in her face, “Drekask!”

Her hands raised to either side of the blue’s head, and she rubbed his cheeks affectionately before placing a light kiss right on the tip of his stinky nose. And then Drekask was there, nudging the blue aside. Betraying the wher’s own excitement, he didn’t go far, and she kept one hand on his head, fingers automatically sliding to rub his eyeridges.

As she felt arms wrap around her, she smiled warmly, cheeks coloring as she felt Dresk slide between them every now and then as he continued his winding around. She leaned up then, and let her lips graze Drekar’s pair softly. That was all she dared at the moment, she wasn’t entirely sure on the rules for wherlings(because he was one now). “I’m well. I’m glad we finally managed to meet up. When I heard you bonded again…” She chuckled softly and then leaned to reach down with her other(non-blue petting) hand, and ran it along the agate’s back until she reached his head and caught those much smaller eyeridges.

Drekar seemed disappointed at the shorter kiss but did not protest, darting a quick glance to the little Agate who was still distracted by smelling this new person all over. The rules had been vague when it came to dual handlers, and in all honesty he wasn't quite sure himself what was and wasn't allowed. So with a small regretful smile Drekar stepped back just a tad, giving his whers room to bother interact with this new human.

There were certainly having a fun time of it. Dresk was in heaven getting his scritches, and the little Agate had not yet mastered the concept of personal space nor of how heavy he was. He continued to lean on Shihei's knees, foregoing words for projecting pure contentment, blissful at all this attention he was getting. Not to be outdone by the smaller Agate, Drekask was snuffling softly, keen for his share of attention. Drekar had to step back a moment to watch in amusement before finally taking pity on Shihei and nudging Drekask away for real, keeping the blue a few feet back and compensating by petting him with both hands. Drekask wasn't too happy by missing out on Shihei, but he did enjoy the undivided attention and thus was happy enough with his position, crooning happily.

"There, now you have some breathing room- oh for goodness sakes!" A small blue fancy flit had suddenly winked in from between and landed on Shihei, cheeping a hello. Drekar had to laugh at how Tiny wanted to join in the fun too. "I don't think you're going to have much space to yourself with these guys around." he chuckled over the cacophony of two crooning whers and a warbling fancy flit. Dresk had apparently forgotten how to legs and was flopped over on top of the dragonhealer's feet, rolled over on his back and completely engulfed in bliss.

"Yes I did bond again- last thing Drekask or I expected." the albino managed to say over the commotion, a chuckle in his voice. "It's...weird, going back to wherlinghood." he glanced back down at the floppy baby wher. "Especially since this one can see." that had been the weirdest bit, in Drekar's opinion. Every once in a while he would get these flashes of images from the Agate, none very clear or detailed, but enough to leave Drekar's head spinning, it was just such a novel experience and so different from what he was used to. "And how has the infirmary been?" He glanced up at Shihei, offering her a warm smile. Perhaps physical contact might be more frowned upon now that he was unexpectedly a wherling again, but that did nothing to hinder the affection Drekar had for her. "And yourself?"
